Audience Outlook Monitor is a research service for arts and cultural organizations, offered by WolfBrown, an arts research company. Through Audience Outlook Monitor, organizations can survey their audiences about topics of interest. More information is available on this website.
If you received a request to take a survey, it is because a cultural organization that you have visited in the past (i.e., the “sponsoring organization”) values your perspective and would like to hear from you. If you choose to participate, your answers will be combined with those from others and used by the sponsoring organization to better understand its audiences.
Participation in any Audience Outlook Monitor survey is completely optional. The sponsoring organization will have access to aggregated results through an online dashboard shared with other participating cultural organizations.
The policy on this page refers to the survey privacy and data use policy. To see the policy referring to this website's privacy and data use, click here.
PRIVACY STATEMENT
To help interpret responses, all Audience Outlook Monitor surveys collect some demographic information and information about the respondent’s household. All these questions are optional.
The answers provided by respondents will be collected and stored in Alchemer, a U.S. based survey software platform. Alchemer is committed to complying with international regulations and privacy frameworks as laid out in their privacy policy.

For the following surveys, respondents’ answers will be treated as anonymous and confidential:
-
Demographics and Buyer Behavior Survey
-
Communications and Media Use Survey
-
Friction Audit and Engagement Survey
-
Tastes and Preferences Survey
-
Surveys of Audience Attitudes about Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (The IDEA Study)
-
Donor Motivations Survey
At no point in these surveys will respondents be asked for their name, phone number, or email address as part of an Audience Outlook Monitor survey. However, after completing an Audience Outlook Monitor survey, respondents may be invited to enter an incentive drawing. These forms are hosted by the sponsoring organization and contact information will not be associated with responses to the Audience Outlook Monitor survey. Respondents may also be invited to participate voluntarily in future research projects. Those who choose to participate will be asked for their contact information in a separate survey. Contact information will be treated as confidential and will not be associated with responses to the Audience Outlook Monitor survey or provided to the sponsoring organization.
We also support a number of organizations with Post-Event Feedback Surveys – surveys administered in connection with attendance at a specific event or visit to a cultural venue. A small number of sponsoring organizations offer survey respondents an option to request a follow-up contact with the sponsoring organization. Those who request a follow-up contact may then voluntarily submit their contact information. In these cases, the survey language clearly notifies respondents that their answers to certain questions will be made available to the sponsoring organization.
